I’ve discovered the secret to saving money in London. All you need to do is sleep till 4:00 PM.
So yeah, that happened. I just made it a pretty chill day. I got some fish and chips from a pub, but I gotta say, fish and chips is supposed to be England’s thing, but it was pretty meh. The Mahi Mahi fish and chips I had at the fishermans club in NZ was way better. I know it varies by establishment, but still.
I took a free walking tour tonight that talks about ghosts. We went to some parks that were supposedly haunted, and St.James palace. It was neat enough.
this is a pretty short one, so I guess here are some random thoughts on London.
– european card look funny, they’re just shaped weird.
– the trains are awesome. You know when you wanna go somewhere in Van and your like ” oh sweet it’s near a skytrain station” well literally everything in London is near a station.
– it’s nice that there is enough tourists for bars and pubs and restaurants to be open late every night.
– everything is expensive here. London is a really nice city, but it isn’t cheap. 5£ is a medium-cheap price for a pint. That’s nuts, at least they are 3.70£ in the hostel bar.
– my first reaction to British people was that they were kind of cold. But most people are pretty helpful. They just have weird non-responses when I say thanks
– I kind of expected everybody to be talking in a ” hoity – toity” English accent, but I’ve heard so much French it was surprising
heres some more pictures I hadn’t posted yet.
Probably feel a whole lot better after getting some sleep!
Very interesting insights. Sounds like you’re having fun!
