alright, here’s a longer post about Amsterdam. We got here yesterday, and have been checking out the sites. The canals are really cool, but it also weird that they often don’t have any guard rails or anything. I’m sure drunks must fall in occasionally.
Amsterdam is a beautiful city. London felt like a modern city with alot of old buildings, but Amsterdam feels like I’ve walked into a photo. It’s really picturesque with all of its canals and uneven roads and tall, thin houses.
This morning we drove to Edam, the plac where Edam cheese comes from. We went for a bike ride in the morning, followed by touring a place that makes cheese and clogs. It was kind of interesting.
After that we drove back to Ansterdam and explored on our own. I joined up with an 2 Australians and 2 Kiwi’s and checked out the shops, they were a lot like the shops you would find anywhere else, except it Amsterdam so there’s a lot of marijuana branded stuff. I was surprised to see that the Hudsons Bay Company had a shop coming soon.
tonight we’re going on a cruise along the canals, so that should be fun. So far so good with this tour, most of the people are fun to be with I’m enjoying it.
Also, Dutch is the weirdest language I’ve ever heard.
Ok when you mentioned canal cruises all I could think of was ” it’s a small world ” at Disney . I’m sure it will be way more fun than that . Amsterdam sounds beautiful .
And I want to see pics of you on the bike !
